Ukraine, which means “homeland or region”, is the largest country in entire Europe and also ranked as the 46th largest country in the world. Ukraine has been an important area of Slavic culture ever since the Middle Ages.  The dominant religions followed in Ukraine are Eastern Orthodoxy and Greek Catholicism. Ukraine is a developing country and has been ranked 88th on the Human Development Index.

Geographically Ukraine lies between latitudes 44 degree and 53 degree north and longitudes 22 and 41 degree East. Based on its geographical location Ukraine mostly comprises of fertile plains and plateaus as because it has a network of several rivers flowing through it, mainly Dnieper, Seversky Donets, Dniester and Southern Bug all draining into the Black Sea and some in the smaller Sea of Azov. The soil type in Ukraine can be divided into three types mainly sandy podzolized soil, black fertile soil and chestnut and salinized soil. It has quite a vast kind of vegetation and animals dwelling in the country.

Ukraine is a republic and has a mixed kind of system of semi parliamentary and semi presidential rule. The present president of Ukraine is Petro Poroshenko and its Prime Minister is Volodymyr Groysman. With the last amendments made to the constitution of Ukraine it gives more power to the president than the Prime Minister. It has distinct legislative, executive and judicial branches and with all these working in close coordination Ukraine has a peaceful and well managed governmental organization making it a country of peace and rules and regulations and helping its citizens lead a smooth life in the country.
